Barca has been banned for one year from the Spanish Cup for not playing in the 2nd leg cup tie against Atletico Madrid. However, Barca officials said they will be appealing soon and are willing to go to the courts to seek justice!

The English FA has brought in a new rule where a referee can move a free kick foward 10 yards for dissent.This perhaps would mean that there will not be any yellow card for kicking the ball away.

Nistelroy suffered another ligamen injury which could effectively end his move to Man United. He would most likely be out of action for at least eight months.This would mean that certain strikers in the Man U camp will breathe a sigh of relief!

Manchester United are now looking for a goal keeper to beef-up the defence compartment for next season's challenge. It is said that Alex Ferguson is interested in Fiorentina's keeper...and looking at Man U's bank accounts, they sure can afford him!

ROY KEANE NAMED ENGLAND FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR DATE30-04-2000

Roy Keane recieved 53% of the votes putting him ahead of Kevin Phillips of Sunderland and Harry Kewell of Leeds United. However it is ironic that a player who has one sending off, seven bookings and being reprimanded for abusing referees should win such a prestigious award which is named after Sir Stanley Mattews who epitomised sportmanship and high discipline
